We’ve run a motel in the middle of Cobram long enough to know what people ask at the desk. These notes are those answers, written down — no filler, and nothing we wouldn’t tell you standing at reception.
The Cobram year
The town changes with the season. Worth knowing before you come.
October to March — fruit season
The farm gates and fruit stands open across the Murray Valley and you can taste your way along the back roads. This is the region at its best, and its busiest — book earlier than you think you need to.
Summer — the river and the pool
Thompsons Beach, the largest inland beach on the Murray, is a few minutes away. Our own pool is open through the warm months, with the barbecue and the shaded settings beside it.
Any time — the working weeks
Reps, tradespeople and crews come through all year. Midweek is when the motel is busiest with work travel, so a weekend room is often easier to get than a Tuesday one.
Cool months — the quiet trip
The wineries, the olive grove, the cheese and the golf are all still there, with nobody in front of you. Rooms have reverse-cycle heating, and we’ll turn yours on before you arrive.
